I believe there should be some returns in there as they actually organize/stage huge events including alot of artists who with their virtual characters do a concert of some-kind. And they sell hotdogs and what not at that concert. And ofcourse lots more goodies and what not.

Interesting link though, I don’t have much faith in a ‘scheme’ like second life.
