As a current student in said department, I suppose I can be thankful that I’ve gotten this far and done it quite successfully despite my atrocious mathematical ability. I’m sure it would have been much easier or I could have done better if I was more numerate.
I suppose the saddest thing is how regardless of whether standards here are lower or not, people from the world over are flocking here to study because a degree from some UK institute is just that much more presitigious than whatever is on offer in their own countries!
