There’s definitely no reason why you can’t pick and choose your views from anywhere on the political spectrum… it just amused me as it was an unexpected and dramatic contrast (hence the :)). I agree wholeheartedly with everything you posted on immigration, but am very much in support of the welfare state.

I’ve no doubt that people are cheating the system, and I welcome any measures taken to minimise benefit fraud. But I believe legitimate jobseekers have every right to all the support and training they need to get back to work.

My GF’s worked with people who’ve been dodging the system for years, so whatever methods the government are employing to stop that are not working. As for 40 quid a week, I get by on less than 80 quid a week thankyouverymuch, and that’s with paying full taxes, full rent, full bills and full healthcare. I’d be living the life of Riley if I elected to seek low income benefits from left and right, but I choose not to as I disagree with it.

As for left and right politically… It’s all a mess, who says you can’t have views from anywhere you choose?
