Never Shop at Ebuyer.co.uk

Ebuyer.co.uk are jokers.

I sent some RAM back to them for RMA, it was the 3rd faulty chip they had sent me. Actually, it was the 2nd faulty RAM chip they had sent me because the 3rd time, they just sent back the SAME chip. Praise be for the little black dot on the barcode label.

Anyway, I sent this back to them in March and am still waiting for a refund. Why a refund? I don’t know, but they said they’d refund instead of replacing. Ok, thinks I, I’ll just buy some more RAM from Crucial or something.

But I’ve not had my money back. What’s better, is that in my “Ledger” it reports that I was refunded, and then the money was deducted and new RAM dispatched. But it hasn’t been.

So I send an ENote to their support system, as follows:

I have not received a refund, not a replacement part.
Given the time that has elapsed, this is unacceptable. Please either refund the money, or dispatch the replacement part.
Some indication of what you are doing would be appreciated.

In response, “Jim” (Probably not his real name) responds with:

Thank you for contacting our Support Team.
In review of your accounts Transactions and RMA, you were refund the amount of 65.30 to your credit card account on 21/03/05 at 305pm
Please allow 3-5 business days after that day to post to your account. If you did not receive the refund on your next statement please advise
Thank you for contacting Ebuyer.com

Ok. Can anyone spot the problem here? If not, I’ll point it out. Firstly, the date this arrived was the 5th of April. “Jim” clearly states in his message that I should allow 3-5 business days for the payment to clear, from the date 21/03/05. Hello Jim, are you in a funny timezone? April 5th is well over 3-5 business days. Goddamn useless idiot.

So, as they asked, I “advise” them.

It is now April 5th. This is 15 days after the indicated refund date. I have not received the refund, nor a replacement product. Please refund the total to me immediately, or dispatch a replacement part else I shall have no choice but to take this matter up with Consumer Direct / Trading Standards.

Ok, thinks I, this might get at least an investigative response. At the end of the day “Jim” writes back with the following:

Thank you for contacting our Support Team.
In review of your accounts Transactions and RMA, you were refund the amount of 65.30 to your credit card account on 21/03/05 at 305pm

Hands up who can spot the difference. Anyone?
I resisted the temptation to simply copy and paste my original message to them, so I altered it a bit and used some capital letters to see if they’d take even the blindest bit of notice. Next time I might actually get verbally offensive in the support ticket to see if they do actually read them AT ALL.

Bloody idiots.
My advice to anyone out there, is to not deal with www.ebuyer.co.uk at all, ever. It’s simply not worth it if (And probably when) something goes wrong. Pay a little premium to a company who gives a s***.

Ebuyer are most definatly THE worst company I’ve ever delt with, over the years I’ve placed several orders with them and every time they screw up!
This occation its taking ( and still not arrived) 2 weeks to deliver a much awaited GFX card and a few plug boards! They took my money straight away but no goods in return.
I’ve tried to ring but get some daft bloke whitering on about change of ONE warehouse. No response with enotes (utter waste of time anyway) so no way of trying to find out whats happening!

So the other screw ups include, totally destroyed case arrives at door, took weeks to get a replacement. Infact I gave up and ended up using the case! Ordered GFX card a few years back, waited 2 months for them to say it was discontinued and refunded! others mainly late deliveries!
I normally use SCAN as I live up the road but ebuyer tend to send appealing emails with cheaper than normal items, though this is definatly the last straw!

I hate ebuyer and hope one day they get what they deserve (in this case a new MD and sales management)

I ve used ebuyer many times to buy products. The only time i had a problem was with a Maxtor 80G hard disk i bought 2 years ago. It turns out that ebuyer buys faulty maxtor hard drives and re-sell them as new (meaning disks having a bad sector)…the maxtor company itself would not replace the hard disk…haha thats funny e?

I am or should i say WAS a business customer of Ebuyer. I have spent over £300,000 yes Threehundread Thousand pounds and when i need to return approx £150 of RMA’s back they told me to go to the manufacturer as it was over 28 days. So i went to the manufacturer TOSHIBA, MSI & INNO3D and they told me no go back to EBUYER. So I went back to EBUYER and guess what the told me to go back to the manufacturer. I have now had to wright off the items as i have now spent monthe trying to return the items. This is how they treat a Business customer…God knows how they treat a one off customer..GOODBYE EBUYER RIP…You have lost my business for good over this. And oh try employing staff that enjoy their job not Monkeys but suppose if you pay peanuts you get monkeys…

I have the ‘privilege’ of being a customer and ex employee of Ebuyer, as a student working the summer holidays I have to say the whole factory seemed automated. So the fact that the guy at the top received the same response twice doesn’t surprise me. Probably doesn’t help that when I left there seemed to be a skeleton crew of Polish running the factory, a vast factory where they were pretty much segregated. Lack of communication probably breeds there now.
